A Whiff of Ingenuity: Crafting Casa Posta's Petitgrain Sanitizer Amidst a Pandemic

In the midst of a global pandemic, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, an unlikely hero
emerged - Casa Posta's Petitgrain hand sanitizer. But let's rewind a bit, shall we?
Picture this: I'm on a bustling photoshoot set, surrounded by the buzz of creativity and the
click of cameras. As a fashion stylist, I've danced through countless shoots, but this one had
a unique twist. It was during the peak of COVID-19, and precautions were paramount. Enter
the infamous hand sanitizer debacle.
The art director, a dear acquaintance had brought along bottles of sanitizer courtesy of Coty.
However, what was intended to be a gesture of safety quickly turned into a fragrant fiasco.
The overpowering scent of the sanitizer, reminiscent of a dive bar on a Friday night, filled the
studio air, clinging to our hands like an unwanted guest.
As someone who appreciates the finer notes in life, I couldn't bear the thought of smelling
like a juniper-infused pub crawl. Thus, the seed of an idea was planted. If most sanitizers
smelled this ghastly, perhaps there was room for improvement.
Enter Casa Posta, a budding player in the home fragrance scene, and my newfound
playground for olfactory exploration. As a perfumer, I relished the challenge of creating a
sanitizer that not only served its purpose but also tantalized the senses.
My vision was clear - an Eau de Cologne with crisp, bitter undertones, softened by a delicate
radiance. Yet, as I delved into formulation, I hit a snag. The petitgrain, with its green hues,
lacked the vivacity I craved. That's when Nootkatone waltzed onto the scene.
Nootkatone, a natural gem found in grapefruit skins and yellow cedar trees, boasts a zesty,
bitter grapefruit-like aroma. Its dual nature as a repellent and flavor enhancer intrigued me.
Pairing it with petitgrain was akin to discovering the missing puzzle piece.
With Ambroxan anchoring and adding radiance to the blend, our creation soared to new
heights. No longer just a sanitizer, but a fragrant symphony that danced delicately on the
skin.

And thus, Casa Posta's Petitgrain Linen Water was born as a hand sanitizer scent during
Covid - a beacon of freshness amidst a sea of sanitizers. So, the next time you reach for a
bottle, remember the journey behind its creation. After all, every spritz tells a tale of
innovation and the sweet scent of triumph.
